Saga in 2025: continuous deployment, zero upgrade downtime

We shipped 178 improvements and new features this year. And that’s just the loud ones – many, many rundown upgrades, organizations improvements, bug fixes, and general pieces of product goodness candy went out quietly to continue to save teams time, drive collaboration, and increase productivity every day.

From improving APIs and bringing in more AI, it’s been a year of exceptional innovation volume for the Saga team, but out of all 178 improvements, here are our top three:

1) Collaborative editing that holds up live

Multiple people. One script. A red clock. Saga’s collaborative editing is built for that reality. Real‑time collaboration works across story content, notes, scripts, and the Daily Note, with admin toggles per editor type. You see who’s active, auto‑saves run every 30 seconds, and the session owner commits the final save. Need to take the wheel? Switch to exclusive editing, or force‑unlock in truly urgent moments to keep the show moving.

The outcome: fewer handoff delays, clearer ownership, and far fewer “where did that change go?” moments.

2) All the rundown, none of the noise

Rundowns are the heartbeat of a show. We made them calmer. Enhanced rundowns bring cleaner layouts, keyboard‑first control, configurable views, and a presenter view for full‑screen read‑through. Save and switch layouts on the fly. Drag instances and groups between rundowns. Timing and status are clearer at a glance.

The effect on the floor: Speed by default. Errors erased. Tighter timing, and a better heads‑up on what’s now and what’s next.

3) The renewed Saga app: Take your newsroom wherever you go

We cut friction across the app experience. Faster loads. Simpler navigation. Core actions where your hands expect them. Mobile got the same treatment, so field teams can tweak copy, add media, confirm timing, and stay in lock‑step with the newsroom.

And Presenter View in the app gives you a clean, full-screen read on the go – swipe through scripts, stay aligned, so your stories move forward, even when you’re on the move.

52 weeks, 178 updates. Zero upgrade downtime.

Alongside the top three, our users thought these eight were great:

  • Keyboard shortcuts
  • Ask AI support
  • Rundown creation scheduling
  • Custom actions in rundown menu
  • Planning tab in Stories
  • Containerized MOS gateway
  • Presenter view
  • Rundown layouts

… out of many, many more. Saga ships continuously. Performance, security, and reliability keep climbing without stealing a show day. Leaders get lower operational risk and faster time to value. Teams keep momentum.

Transform how your newsroom discovers stories, collaborates, and delivers content to every audience.
