3 November, 2026: Saga, the story-centric newsroom system, announces today its newest member of the team, Lukas Kotek.
Lukas brings more than two decades of experience in broadcast and newsroom technology and team leadership, to Saga. His appointment comes as Saga continues to develop its story-centric newsroom platform, connecting editorial planning, live production and publishing across platforms.
During 11 years at Aveco, he led automation projects for international broadcasters and helped develop one of the world’s first studio automation products. At Octopus Newsroom, he built a planning product from concept to customer deployment before leading its technical teams. Most recently, he’s been leading engineering teams through the shift to AI-first software delivery at O2.
“We spend a lot of time understanding how our customers work and finding ways to make their workflows better,” says Andreas T. Whiteley, CTO of Saga. “Lukas brings experience from both building the technology and delivering it to broadcasters. That perspective will be valuable to the team, and we are happy to have him on board.”
