BERGEN, Norway – September 1, 2025 – Saga, the industry leader in cloud-native serverless newsroom technology, will be showcasing three major new features at the upcoming IBC Show in Amsterdam. The innovations—"Collaborative Editing," an enhanced "Saga Rundown," and the "Organizations" feature—are designed to transform news production workflows for broadcasters and multi-station networks, enabling them to work faster, more efficiently, and with greater cohesion than ever before.
"The future of news is collaborative, unified, and real-time, whether you're at a desk or in the field," said CEO Haavard Myklebust of the Fonn Group, the Norwegian broadcast technology company behind the Saga Newsroom system. "Our new features are a direct response to the evolving needs of modern content organizations. We’re not just building tools; we’re creating a unified ecosystem that empowers journalists, producers, and editors to focus on what matters most: creating great content."
A highlight of Saga's IBC presence will be the demonstration of Collaborative Editing. This highly anticipated feature, the only one of its kind in a proper cloud-native and serverless system, brings a Google Docs-style real-time editing experience directly into the Saga platform. Multiple users can now work on the same story simultaneously, seeing changes as they happen. This innovation eliminates the need for manual version control, streamlines the editorial process, and significantly accelerates breaking news coverage.
In addition to these core features, Saga will highlight a major update to its mobile app. The enhanced Saga app ensures reporters are no longer tied to their desks. With a live link to the newsroom, journalists in the field can access Saga’s story-centric rundown and publishing system. This means they can track schedules, manage stories, and control go-live times directly from their mobile device. They can also capture photos and videos for immediate publishing and upload media content. Upcoming features will include writing and editing stories and events—all within a single, unified interface.
Saga will also showcase major enhancements to the Saga Rundown for linear TV productions. The updated rundown offers more intuitive controls, advanced scheduling capabilities, and deep integration with other newsroom modules, including video and graphics. This allows producers to build and manage complex broadcast rundowns with unmatched speed and precision, ensuring a smooth and dynamic on-air experience.
Finally, Saga will introduce its powerful new Organizations feature. Built for large-scale news networks, this feature enables a single newsroom system to serve multiple locations and TV stations while maintaining a unified content library. Teams can now share, group, and manage content across different parts of the organization seamlessly, breaking down traditional silos and fostering a network-wide collaborative approach to journalism. Whether it’s sharing a key interview between sister stations or centralizing editorial oversight for a national network, Organizations provides the framework for true enterprise-level news production.
Saga invites all IBC attendees to visit our booth to experience these new features firsthand at Hall 7, stand A 53.
